Ropetex and Powertex offer more sustainable lifting products
By choosing Ropetex or Powertex, you demonstrate that your sustainability and CSR policies have substance. We aim to lead the transformation and set the standards for a more sustainable future in our industry. We uphold high standards and work based on facts. In this way, we contribute to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
➕ Sustainable product development
We also regularly develop innovative and sustainable products. Here are three examples:
- r-PET lashing, round slings, and webbing straps
In 2023, we launched our innovative series of lashing, round slings, and webbing straps made entirely from recycled polyester (r-PET). These products have all reduced CO2 footprint by up to 75% (More details in our news post). - Fall protection harnesses
Our Powertex HW Eco fall protection harnesses are made from OEKO-TEX® approved r-PET fibers. This means that the material is free from harmful chemicals and is made from recycled PET bottles. - Steel rope lubrication
Our steel rope lubricant, Ropetex Ultra Lube 2, is an "environmentally friendly lubricant". This lubricant is specially developed to limit environmental impact in environments where wire ropes come into contact with water.
➕ Fact-based information
We believe it is crucial to communicate based on facts when it comes to sustainability. We do not support "greenwashing". All products in our range that represent a more sustainable choice come with sustainability fact sheets where we clearly state the sustainability improvements and innovations.
➕ Self-audit of our sustainability practices
We believe that being present and collaborating with our dedicated sustainability audit team sets us apart from others. We have a thorough process for auditing our production partners that focuses on the following areas:
Quality and sustainability in the production process
Our auditors assess the quality and sustainability of the production process through:
- Thorough documentation review (including certificates such as ISO certifications).
- Comprehensive audits and inspections at the production sites.
- Discussions with employees and management at the production sites.
Work conditions
Regarding work conditions, our auditors take note of:
- Wages.
- Workplace safety.
- Breaks and facilities (such as seating, cafeteria).
- Workshop and cafeteria arrangements.
- Working hours and holidays.
➕ Training and information
Our local teams also provide advice to production partners on quality, sustainability, good working conditions, and training. This approach leads to verifiable results. 93% of the manufacturers that have had a follow-up audit have improved their performance.
➕ Collaboration for a reduced CO2 footprint
Our goal is to eventually market only circular products. We continuously seek collaboration with innovative manufacturers. In this way, we support UN Sustainable Development Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
